Christmas Photos

Weekend before last, Savannah, Jeremy, and I headed out to have our Christmas photos done by the WONDERFUL Geri Gmphotos. If you recall, the wind was blowing at least 500 miles an hour that day. We reached Lucy Park to find out that we were going to have to cancel the photo shoot at that particular location. I was bummed out because we were looking forward to taking the infamous "leaves" pictures. Geri, being the wonderful photographer that she is, suggested this little hole in the wall area in downtown Wichita. We had such a great time taking the pictures!!

2 MONTHS!!!!

Are you kidding me???? This has been the fastest two months of my whole life!! From smiling & laughing, to cooing, to rolling over a million times...this has been a super exciting two months! Every day, she never fails to do something new to make me smile!

To celebrate her two years of life, we decided to take her to see Santa Claus. It was so funny to see her sitting in Santa's lap, just hanging out, without a worry in the world.

Dedication day!

On Sunday, we had Savannah dedicated. Just in case you have never been to a baby dedication... the purpose is for you to commit, in front of your church, to raise your child to walk with Christ. The church, in turn, commits to aid you in raising your child to walk with Christ.

We had family and friends come from Paducah, Ft. Worth, & Wichita Falls, to witness this blessed event in our lives take place.

Thanksgiving

This year, the word thankful has a whole new meaning for me. Before, I felt like I was just going through the motions when it came to Thanksgiving. Now that Savannah is in my life, I understand that I am truly blessed. A husband that loves me more than anything, a new little girl to make my life complete, and a family to spend Thanksgiving with...I am blessed.

This year was extra special because Jeremy's brother, Jason, and my sister-n-law, Lauren, came in from Washington to spend Thanksgiving with us. Monday through Thursday, we spent time with them. Then on Saturday, we traveled to Paducah for my grandparents 50th anniversary. On Sunday, we had Thanksgiving with my family.

5 1/2 WEEKS and our "new life" with Savannah!

WOW! I can't believe that 5 1/2 weeks have already passed! Time really does fly by! There are so many things that have happened in the past couple of weeks.

1) October 5th - Savannah smiled for the first time. This has been one of my favorite milestones so far. I LOVE looking at her and saying something and she just lights up in the biggest smile ever!

2) October 22nd - Savannah learned to suck her thumb. This was one of my mom's particular favorite milestones. She longed for me and my sisters to suck our thumbs and we never did. So, one day, she was holding Savannah and she started sucking her thumb! I thought my mom was going to have a heart attack! She was so excited!

3) October 31st - She had to go to the doctor because she got sick. Come to find out, she has acid reflux. We put her on a medication called Axid. After the medication got in her system, she was just like a brand new baby!

Now that things have calmed down and we are kinda back to a normal routine, I have really had time to think about our "new life" with Savannah. Honestly, I really don't know what I ever did without her. Even with the sleepless nights, the loss of the ability to just get up and go, or the idea of buying a pack of diapers instead of that new shirt, I wouldn't trade my "new life" for anything in the world.

Prayer really does work...

After 2 weeks, I have finally stopped crying every minute because I was constantly thinking about leaving Savannah and going back to work. I couldn't stand the thought of going back to work, full time, and not seeing all of the "firsts" in her life. I finally decided to start praying that God would take this situation and create a way for me to work part time and be able to stay home with Savannah. I am a "take-control" type person, so it was hard for me to just let go and let God handle the situation. Finally, after 2 weeks of struggling with the situation, I really did just let go and stop trying to solve the problem. On Monday, October 20, 2008, God took my prayer request and answered it far beyond my wildest dreams! Without going into a ton of details, God used my job (and my amazing boss) to answer my prayers, to allow me to get to stay home with my baby. My work is going through some major restructuring which, in turn, gave me the ability and the funds to work part time. My amazing boss, which understood without me telling him, knew that in my heart, I needed to be a stay at home mom. This will mean a complete adjustment to mine and Jeremy's current lifestyle, but it is completely worth it to be able to stay at home and take care of my baby. Prayer really does work....!

Started this on July 22, 2008...finally gonna finish it.

When I started this blog on July 22nd, I really didn't have anything exciting going on in my life worth writing about. Now....as of October 4th, 2008, I have a million exciting things going on in my life to write about. Now that Savannah is a part of my life, it is funny how I can look back and realize that my life was NOTHING without her! I have always heard that a child will complete your life, but I am finally beginning to understand what everyone was talking about.

October 4th, was really the second starting point to the rest of my life. The first was my wedding on June 24th, 2005, of course. Anyways, 3 weeks ago, Savannah Ann Johnson, 8 lbs 14 oz. came into our lives. There isn't enough blog space to write about what a joy this past 3 weeks has been! From the smile while she is sleeping, to the many nights awake while she is laying in my arms staring up at me with her big blue eyes, to the way all of our family members look at the little girl that we created like she is the best thing that they have ever laid their eyes on, life just couldn't be any better!

I am still learning how to do all of this, but my goal is to keep updating any time that something exciting happens. Well, for me, that is daily, but I will try to only update the major things that go on!
