Wichita Mountains/Medicine Park

After church, we loaded up and headed on over to Mount Scott to celebrate our freedom on Memorial Day! We had a GREAT time and little Miss Savannah enjoyed every minute of the trip! Thanks family for making this another great holiday! Funny little restaurant in Medicine Park. How can you not believe in God after seeing this view? This is how she rolls.
Johnson Family photo. The background doesn't look real?
Me and the Jerm.
Family photo minus the Crutchers who were floatin' the Guadalupe River. We had WAY more fun ;)
Jeremy Johnson...the newest Heisman Trophy Winner!
The girl isn't afraid of ANYTHING! She wanted to throw the rocks in the lake. The lake was a little too far.
Mi Madre and Mi Padre.
Mi Padre laughing at something?
Mom and the favorites....JUST KIDDING JACKIE!!!!
At the campsite about to cook some delicious hamburgers and hot dogs!
The table of food that we devoured!
Jerm...just a chillin'
A buzzard smelled out our delicious food and was coming to clean up the scraps!
So many things I could say about this view!
Now, on to Medicine Park! If you haven't checked out Medicine Park lately, it is a definite must! The streets were lined with millions of people, there was a concert going on, they have remodeled the whole city, there is a bride that crosses a river with a walkway, there are tons of restaurants, and there were tons of people having a great time!
The trip home. Someone got carried away with momma's pen!

Savannah update...

This week has been pretty crazy to say the least...
First of all, she has been a REALLY sick girl! Whatever is going on in the air has threw her allergies/asthma for a loop! We have been on the nebulizer four times a day for a couple of days now, she is on 1/2 tsp of steroids twice a day (which, in my opinion, it should be illegal to give a 26 lb girl steroids...she is crazy right now), 1/2 a tsp. of cough medicine once a day, and one pill a day of singulair. As of right now, she appears to be getting better but who knows from one day to the next?
Next, Savannah has turned a huge milestone over the past week. Every night before we go to bed, I usually give Savannah a bottle filled full of warm milk. Well, starting on Monday night, Savannah has wanted nothing to do with a bottle? The first couple of nights, I thought, oh...she is just having an off night and she is exhausted from all of the weekend activities. Now, it is Saturday night and she is still sticking to the fact that she wants nothing to do with a bottle anymore? I am floored! I wasn't ready to give up the bottle. That is the problem exactly...I, Me, Crystal wasn't ready to give up the bottle. I guess Savannah hasn't learned that I am not good with changes...
Finally, with this four day weekend going on, I have decided to start the potty training process. Here lately, she has been talking about the potty and sitting on it a lot, so I decided to try things out in REAL panties and see how far that gets us. Long story short, I have washed 8 little Elmo panties over the course of a day. Every time she pee pees in her panties, she says "uh oh....gross!" The girl never fails to make me laugh no matter what the circumstance is!
I'm dead when she is old enough to care that I posted this...

Memorial Weekend Part One...

Today was all about spending the day with some very important friends in our lives...
My great friend Jodi and her precious little girl Katelyn came over to spend the morning with us! We had a great time watching Barney and Yo Gabba Gabba, eating everything in sight, and watching Katelyn rock back and forth while trying to venture and crawl! Thanks for coming over and spending time with us!
Not long after nap time, we got a call from our FAVORITE neighbors asking us to come over and share a WONDERFULLY cooked dinner with them! Steaks, corn, potatoes, salad, coconut creme pie, rolls, oh my! Will forever be thankful for being blessed with such amazing neighbors!

First Dentist Appointment

Thanks to the WONDERFUL Alisa Ratzlaff, our first dental experience was a huge success! Couple of funny stories about the event...
1) "Savannah, if you open up your mouth and say AAAAHHHH, we will go get a cone cone (sno cone)" Savannah "mouth open....AAAHHHHHHH"
2) "Savannah, we will go get two cone cones if you let her tickle your teeth (clean her teeth). Savannah "tickle teeth!".
Needless to say, our first dental appointment went off without a hitch! Can't wait for number two in November!!! Thanks to the wonderful dental hygienist assistants that took multiple pictures for me while I was holding Savannah!
Sitting in the chair with her!
Showing her how to open your mouth and say AAHHHH.
So excited once cone cones were brought into the equation!

19 months - Lovely locks!

Look at how long my baby girl's hair is getting! I know this may shock most of you considering her hair looks super short at all times because she has a head full of curls! Keep on growin'!!!

THREE HUNDREDTH POST!

W-O-W! That is a LOT of Jibberish coming from these fingers! I thought that I would use this 300th post to reminisce back to the top reasons I even started this crazy blog in the first place!
Jesus Christ. Seriously, I don't know what I would do without my Lord and Savior, first and foremost in my life. We all know that I could be labeled a mess (a hot mess, I prefer) at times because I have so many things going on, but with Him on my side, I manage to keep it together!
Savannah Ann: Really...what was life like before this girl? Who knows and who cares! Meaningless, pointless, I could go on and on. Life post Savannah has meant making me complete!
Jeremy Robert Johnson: With the help of this WONDERFUL guy, we have managed to raise a 20 month old together. Sharing in the bath time, bed time, play time, book time, meal time, diaper changing time, happy time, sad time, anytime duties, we have added some one else into our lives to make our little family complete! Sometimes I feel like it is just you and me against the world, but am reminded how blessed I am to have you on my side!
Mom and Dad: I just want to take a minute to personally thank you two for being there with me from the very beginning of me "cutting the umbilical cord" and moving out into this great big world! Even though I don't live at home anymore (which was a very traumatic process), you guys have managed to remain my number one supporters through everything I have been through...marriage and the birth of my child. Whenever I hear that Jessica Andrew's song..."Who I am", I always think that she is talking about me...
"I am rosemary's granddaughter, The spitting image of my father,
and when the day is done, my momma's still my biggest fan.
Sometimes, I'm clueless and I'm clumsy,
but I've got friends who love me
and they know just where I stand...
It's all a part of me,
and that's who I am!"
Jackie and Jenny: These girls are a trip! The Kardashian sisters have NOTHING on the Wright sisters...that's for sure! I swear, if MTV, FOX, E-Channel, or Lifetime came in and did a reality show over this family, ratings would shoot through the roof! Those of you that are close to me can vouch for that! Without these girls in my life, I would be incomplete! Jenny - Your ability to hang out with me and bond with me as if we are the same age still amazes me! I will forever be grateful that I can say one of my best friends is 8 years younger than me! Jackie - I love how you always act so nervous when we are around "normal people" but when it comes to me, you have the ability to let your guard down and act yourself! I will forever be thankful that I can say that I have a best friend that is 4 years younger than me. Jackie and Jenny - Thanks for being the divas that you are...I wouldn't have it any other way!
The grandparents: As I am writing this, I am hoping that I don't regret it. I am VERY lucky to still have 3 out of 4 grandparents still left. Three out of the four had the opportunity of knowing that they lived long enough to be great grandparents. Three out of the four had the opportunity to meet their little Savannah Ann. How lucky am I? I could go on and on for days on the joys of being Joy, Alvie, Tom and Sue's granddaughter, but I think that I will take a few minutes to share about the man on the right in the picture above. After all, this blog, which will be made into a book every year is for Savannah (and future children) to read about their lives growing up, so I think it is only necessary to include him in my book considering he passed away before I started blogging. The man on the right that I am referring to is my Pa. Regretfully, Savannah will never (this side of Heaven) have the opportunity of meeting my Pa. Still to this day, if I allow myself to think about it, it pains me to know that he will never get to meet my baby girl. To say that he was pretty special to me is a complete understatement. He didn't like to chat on the phone much, so we became pen pals. I still have some of the letters that he wrote me. He called me "Crissy Lou". I LOVE that name! He would always tell me that he was going to stick around long enough to see what ugly hairy legged boy I was going to bring home. Oddly enough, he passed away 6 months after I got married. Guess you were serious when you said that, huh Pa. Every time we left his house, he would sneak some cash out of his wallet and fill mine, Jackie and Jenny's pockets. Mamma actually just found out about that a couple of weeks ago. Moses, Dairy Queen, Singing at the nursing homes to the old folks, visiting the elderly at their homes, bonfires, quality time with family, picking weeds in the cotton rows, driving by the age of 2, wahoo, hand and foot, dominoes, eye spy, church, picking up communion cups, telling us about Jesus, old stories about him and Mamma, are all things that I will forever hold in my heart to keep the memory of my Pa alive. Savannah (and future children), if you ever want to know the story behind any of these things, I would be more than happy to share it with you!
FRIENDS: There are too many to list, but as I have told a number of you here lately, "Quality is far better than quantity"! Far from what I believed in college, but I have come to live by this motto! There are a handful of you that I call my best friends and I am forever grateful for your love and support! What would I do without you guys...you know who you are ;)
OUTER FAMILY BLOOD OR NOT: In one way or another, each of you have touched my heart and I am forever in debt of your love towards me and my family!
That's enough sappy writing, tears for one night! On to more light-hearted blogs!!

Bachelorette Premiere Party!

Once in a while, us girls (Kim Smythe, Katie Carroll, Lauren Wuthrich, and I) get together for some much needed girl time bachelorette style!
So glad Jerm got up for a minute to take our pic!
Ok, so its time for everyone to go home. NOOOTTT so much! Kim's car was D-E-A-D!
Once again, Jerm saved the day by waking up to jump start her car! Kim...if you had an American made car, this wouldn't have happened!!! BAHAHA!

Double the fun!

These two in my life equals double the fun! So, ever since the fake bake girl party, Savannah has been obsessed with wearing a two piece bathing suit. She knows where they are hidden. If things get quiet, I know exactly where she is. Struggling soooo hard to get her clothes off and the bathing suit on.
Oh, how Jeremy loves coming home and having me take his picture, but this was definitely blog worthy! If you are close to me, you know that I am obsessed with my burritos that I have perfected! Along with these burritos, you have to have Taco Bell mild sauce. Well, a couple of years ago, my little sister bought a WHOLE box of Taco Bell mild sauce from one of the employees while it was coming off of the truck for me for my birthday. Not sure if it was legal for him to sell it to her, but that is beside the point! I have enjoyed the little packets of mild sauce for the past couple of years. WELLLLL.....I have come down to the last 20 packets. I NEED MORE PACKETS! Well, my WONDERFUL husband knew how much I was stressing over this dreadful situation, so he took it upon himself to solve all my problems! He was at the grocery store and found a bottle of the Taco Bell brand mild sauce that I use! Oh my gosh, I don't have to go buy a taco anymore and load up on five thousand packets while I'm there anymore! Thank you Jerm for always thinking of me and solving my problems before they become a national crisis!
Oh the little things in life that make you happy...!
