Like mother, like daughter...

So, anyone that knows me AT ALL knows that I am kind of (ok, more than kind of) a picky eater. Well, yesterday, I learned that 9 months of eating horribly has possibly affected the way Savannah eats!
I decided to use some of Kim Smythe's advice and feed her some chicken strips. I went and bought her the super cute dinosaur chicken strips. Let me start from the beginning. I cut up a perfectly made ham sandwich. If you look at the picture, you notice where the ham sandwich got scooted over and the chicken strips are the only thing that she wanted in her sight. Not soon after, she pushed the ham sandwich off of the high chair and devoured the chicken strips! The whole time this was going on, I couldn't help but laugh. I would have done the same thing...scooted the sandwich into the trash and tore into the chicken! Love her!
More to come on the journey out of baby food into real food...

BOO BOO UPDATE...

Here are a couple of updated pics of the fall. Come to find out, she didn't do as much damage to her forehead as I thought...thank goodness! She actually went skiing on her nose. There is no skin anymore on the tip of her nose. Oh, the joys of walking....

First Sandwich

After spending some time with Kim and Daley, she gave me some pointers on different food groups that Savannah may grow to like. The first one on the list that we decided to try out was a sandwich. Considering I don't like sandwiches at all, it never entered my mind that she might actually like something that I don't like? Who would have thought...?
Well, with tons of TLC, I made a scrumptious ham sandwich for her. I thought, this looks good, I actually might like it? She ate a couple of pieces of bread and then started her routine gagging sounds. Oh well, maybe tomorrow! This is a HUGE work in progress to make my baby actually like different food groups...unlike her mother!
Looks good...huh?

Daley and Savannah Play date!

Yesterday, precious Daley and her mom Kim came over to spend some time playing with us! They had a blast playing together and, of course, I LOVED chatting it up about any and everything with Kim!
Daley, girl, hang out with us for a little bit longer and you will learn to love pictures! hahaha
We are trying to teach these two to share!
AWWWWW....precious friends!
Daley's favorite toy of Savannahs!
Honey, if you only knew what you looked like in your Bubba teeth!

Juicy Couture please...!

Give me a pink juicy couture outfit and some pink uggs and I will be just fine....thanks!

Our first shiner!

Can you say...OUCH! Today, we experienced our first REAL boo boo! Let's just say that with all of this walking going on, we haven't conquered the stairs outside yet. She walked about 50 feet today from the basketball goal to the front porch without missing a beat. Once she got to the front porch, she thought it would be a good idea to climb the concrete stairs. Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal, but gravity got a hold of her and she went crashing head first into the concrete. Her nose was bleeding and she has a big goose egg on her forehead. I, being the calm person that I am.....wait.....who am I talking about? I, being the OCD, hyper active mom that I am, threw my video camera on the ground and went running over to her and tried the best I could at getting her mind off of the pain and showing her some love. She cried hard for a few minutes and then remembered that we were at her "happy place" outside. She wanted down so that she could play with Emma and she went on about her day. At the same time, her dad comes running out of the house with an ice pack, white as a ghost, about to throw up from the thought of her hurting herself. He starts throwing out comments like, "Should we take her to the emergency room"? "Oh man, Oh man, are you going to be ok baby girl"? I don't know who was more shook up, me, her, Jeremy, or my mom? Lesson of the day...just because she is walking any and everywhere, doesn't mean that she is a pro! Watch her a little bit harder!!!! Hard to tell from this pic, but there is blood on the nose and there is a shiny goose egg on her forehead!

Invitations sent out!

Ok, after months and months of pre-planning, the invitations to Savannah's first birthday party are officially mailed out! I am very pleased with how they turned out and how things are progressing as far as the party planning goes!
I seriously can't believe that it is already time to be sending out her first birthday party invitations! I'm not going to get too sappy with this post...I will save that for her actual first birthday post.
Now, just waiting on the rsvp's so that I know how many hamburgers, hot dogs, and slushies we will be needing. Is it weird that I am more excited about October 3rd than my actual wedding day. Ok, maybe not my wedding day, but I am super excited!!!!!

Horse Shows..

After the Britney Spears concert this past weekend, I woke the girls up at the hotel at 6:00 AM so that I could make it back to Wichita Falls for my little sister's horse show. She ended up winning DOUBLE GRAND CHAMPION!! Didn't get to take any pictures of the actual show because I was too busy being excited to see my baby after a whole night away from me! I did, however, manage to get a picture of Savannah petting a goat. The girl loves animals!

Carni night!

Date night with Dad...

Last week, I had a meeting with the bride of the wedding that I am currently coordinating right now. Jeremy and Savannah decided to go on a little date with Granna and Poppy to Chuck E. Cheese.
So, funny story, Chuck E. Cheese was dancing in the middle of the floor with the music on. They started doing the cha cha dance and all of the kids were surrounding Chuck E. Cheese and clapping their hands, stomping their feet, and dancing like crazy. Savannah decides to go down low and drop it like it's hot and she was clap, clapping her hands. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen!
After my meeting, I met them up at Chuck E. Cheese and we spent hours dancing and riding the machines! Great time had by all!

Whirlwind, Fast, Rainy, WONDERFUL weekend!

***We all know that I am obsessed with pictures, so get ready....
I have been waiting and waiting and waiting to meet the precious Cailee Coleman. Well, the weekend FINALLY came when we all were able to meet in Paducah and spend some GREAT quality time with family.
Since my goal is to make this past year of blogging into a book, let me explain to everyone what Paducah is. It is a town (about a few hundred people live there it seems like) that we have gone to our whole lives to see our grandparents. My favorite childhood memories are meeting in Paducah to see my cousins. Still to this day, there is no greater feeling than having my whole family piled in one room, everyone talking louder than the other, but still managing to be a part of every conversation that is going on, and completely detaching yourself from "the real world". One of the most important people in my life is my cousin Ben. From the get go, from what I hear, after he pulled what little newborn hair I had out of my head, we were cousins & bff for life! Well, long story short...it was so awesome watching Savannah and Tyler bonding so close right off the bat! Oh yeah, and I just happen to love his wife Lindsee! Me and Ben are two years apart and so are Tyler and Savannah. Whatever Tyler said or did, Savannah thought it was the funniest thing she had ever heard! Tyler would run from room to room, and Savannah (keep in mind, the girl just learned to walk two weeks ago) would take off running, only to end up on the floor dying laughing! All weekend, they loved on each other, played with toys together, and laughed at each other.
Tyler is a whole lot more advanced in the speech area considering he is 3 years old. Anyways, he was telling Savannah (Vianna) a story and his reply after his story was "Oh yeah, you don't talk". haha. I was ROLLING on the floor laughing at that statement. It makes complete sense that a 3 year old would be wondering why this girl wasn't carrying on a conversation with him.
I can't wait to watch these two grow up together even though they are 3 hours apart! Get ready...it was a full weekend of photo sessions.

Kinda makes me sad seeing her playing and carrying on like a big girl this weekend around Tyler.
Shh...don't tell Mamma that she took the glass off the top and is actually in the coffee table..
Tyler...you are SOOOO funny!
Savannah, girl, you don't like to sit in your own car seat?
